hi guys!
I’m ready to cry, I don’t know WHY it’s not working.

I’m creating my first zap and it's supposed to be a pretty straightforward one.

A user registers for an event on our website. I receive an email with the new registration. I want Zapier to reply back to the user confirming their registration.

In step 1, I specified the subject line of the emails that should be considered a trigger.

In step 2, I extracting user email address to reply to in Step 3 (it pulls it correctly).

In step 3, when I test it, “Data in” looks great! “To” has the correct user email address BUT the field “To” in  “Data out” for some reason defaults to my email address.

I tested and troubleshooted and now loosing my mind help 😵

I was also hoping to add a ical file with the event details but at this point not sure if I can get there….

Hi @Irina Smolina

For us to have more info, post screenshots showing how your Zap steps are configured in EDIT mode with the field mappings visible.

NOTE: You may want to use this Zap trigger: Outlook - New Email Matching Search

Hey there, @Irina Smolina 👋

Just came across this and wanted to check how you’re getting on—were you able to get this sorted out?

If not, one possibility is that the To field in the Send Outbound Email action doesn’t have the email address mapped from the Formatter action. If that’s not the case, can you share screenshots showing the fields and settings selected in that Send Outbound Email action specifically? That should help us to better determine what else might be causing some trouble here. Make sure to blur or remove all personal information (names, emails, addresses etc.) from screenshots before sharing—you can use a tool like Zappy for that.

Also, how did you get on with the New Email Matching Search trigger Troy suggested? Did it end up working better for your needs?

Look forward to hearing from you! 🙂
