I have zaps that are failing right now because the signer’s name, signer’s email, and document name (none of these are custom fields) are not appearing in Zapier. Does anyone have an idea of if this is a Docusign issue or a Zapier issue?

An update: I just found another zap that triggers off of the same Docusign template that is firing with no issues (aka the signer name and email appear in the zap, and the document name appears in the zap). So, I think this is a zap issue and not a Docusign issue. I’m not sure how to fix it though, since the zaps were both made by me around the same time.

Hi @Maddie Webb

For live Zap Runs, check your Zap Run history details to see the DATA IN/OUT for each Zap step to help you trace the data flow and troubleshoot: https://zapier.com/app/history/

If you are configuring a Zap, make sure to test the Zap trigger step.

Best practice is to add Filter step to Zaps to make sure required action fields have valid values from mapped variables.

I’m not sure you read my post carefully - This zap was working, and now it is not. I have others configured in the same way. The signer name, email, and the document are essential data points out of Docusign, so I don’t understand why they are missing (which I found by looking at my data in and data out already).

It looks like I was able to figure it out. There used to only be the “download form data” option when connecting Docusign accounts in Zapier, but now there are more granular options. I changed most of them to “yes” to capture the information I wanted, and now it appears to be working.

Thanks so much for following up here @Maddie Webb. Really appreciate you taking the time to share details of how you fixed the Zap! 🤗 And I’m so glad you were able to get the missing fields appearing again.

Hope you have a great rest of your week! 😁
