I have a Zap that pulls data from GoCanvas into a Google Doc, have been using it for a year now and no issues… one of the screens inside of GoCanvas is “General Information” , and it still currently works pulling from General Information, but when editing the Zap, its changing anything from General Information field to invalid by adding $$281802903__ in front of it… the data pulled from other parts of the inspection do not change like this, it seems to be limited to this General Information field but I cant figure out why..

Hi @MWillard

Can you post screenshot showing the DATA OUT from GoCanvas for the General Information so we can see how that data is structured?

If you suspect an issue, try opening a ticket with Zapier Support: https://zapier.com/app/get-help

Here is the New Submission screen showing that its pulling the data from General Information, then another screen shot for when I click the field to assign the data, also showing General Information data is correct, and then another photo showing when I select one of the fields, it then generates the invalid listing like $$308810260__General Information:: POET Site::$$

@MWillard

That is odd.

It likely has to do with how GoCanvas is encoding the variable label.

I recommend opening a ticket with Zapier Support: https://zapier.com/app/get-help

I opened a few other of my Zaps that are pulling from GoCanvas and appears its happening to different fields across all of my GoCanvas Zaps, so not limited to just this one and the General Information field. I did put a ticket in.

Hi @MWillard,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing the issue with your GoCanvas Zaps. It's concerning that multiple fields across different Zaps are being affected. You're on the right path since you've already submitted a support ticket. In the meantime, try checking for any patterns among the affected fields, reviewing recent changes to your forms or Zaps, and testing with sample data. Also, take a look at your Zap history for any error clues. Stay tuned for updates from support—they may ask for more details to help resolve this. Let us know if you need further help.

Ok well while doing a bunch of testing, I believe GoCanvas did something that corrupted my inspections.  Even adding new steps within my existing forms it still comes up corrupted in Zapier, but when I create an entire new Form, I noticed since the last time I created a web based form they are now called “Public Forms” , and the new public form i created, all of the data came through just fine into Zapier.

My guess would be GoCanvas did an update on Web Based forms that corrupted my existing forms. I will continue to talk through this with support and also reach out to GoCanvas support.

Hi @MWillard,

After a recent update, you're running into issues with GoCanvas forms, which may have affected your existing setup with Zapier. Try reviewing your current form settings to ensure they meet any new requirements. Since the new "Public Forms" seem to work, consider transitioning to that format or comparing them with your older forms to spot differences. Reaching out to GoCanvas support can help clarify any changes, and if problems persist on the Zapier side, Zapier Support can assist further. Also, keep an eye on the GoCanvas documentation for relevant updates.

Let me know if you need help connecting it to other actions, like creating an invoice.

GoCanvas support has looked into it and haven't found anything on their end, and also provided a document of a submission in a text format to show everything is being submitted correctly. It appears the issue is on Zapier side. I have submitted two tickets with Zapier support but have not heard back.

Hi @MWillard,

Sorry to hear you're still having trouble and haven't received a response from Zapier Support. To follow up, check your ticket status in your Zapier account and make sure you've included key details like the issue description, steps to reproduce it, any error messages, and the GoCanvas submission document. If it's been a while, reply to the ticket email to request an update.

If you have any further questions or need additional guidance, feel free to ask. We're here to help.
