Custom action that retrieves the subfolder that has "Order in its name

I created a custom action that retrieves the list of subfolders in a dynamic folder in a SharePoint site (I mapped this with the output from previous steps) that has “Order” in its folder name. It is working as expected in the Action builder testing with the list of subfolder that has “Order” in its folder name. However, when used in my zap, it returned an empty result. Note that the path used in my testing in the action builder are the same paths configured in the zap.

I hope somebody can help me fix this. It’s giving me headache.

If it works in Action Builder but comes back empty in the Zap, it’s almost always because the mapped folder path/ID is different at run time (often still using old sample data). Pull in fresh trigger data, remap the dynamic folder field, then test the Zap with a real run, that usually fixes it.

This is a more advanced way and you may need to have some knowledge of code to troubleshoot if custom action can’t give you the action correctly. For starters, I would recommend testing the API requests for subfolders in something like Postman and from there go on to write the custom function.

For this you also have to look into Sharepoint API and see if there are some nuances that have to be taken into account. Sometimes it’s just more straightforward to do an API request than making a custom action. Hope it helps!
