I have previously been able to copy and paste zap steps. Both within a zap and from one zap to another.

However, now I have the option to copy the step, but neither “Paste to Replace” and “Paste Below” show as options to paste the step in another location.

Is this functionality still available? We are in the midst of a migration and I was counting on being able to recreate zap functionality this way.

Hi @lindy

Help links about copy/paste Zap steps: https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/13007162721293-Copy-and-paste-triggers-and-actions-across-Zaps

Limitations

You can only:

  • Replace a single path with another single path.
  • Replace a path group with another path group.
  • Paste a path or path group at the end of a Zap.

You cannot copy and paste steps:

  • That use a private app connection that has not been shared with you.
  • That use a private app that you don’t have access to.
  • Between different Zapier accounts.
  • Between different internet browsers.
  • While using Firefox’s private mode.

Hi there, @lindy 👋

Did Troy’s reply help answer your question? Were any of the limitations he listed what was preventing the step from being pasted?

Keep us posted on how you’re getting on, want to make sure you’re all set! 🙂

I am still unable to copy Zap steps. None of the above limitations apply to me. Even if I am in a zap in my account and try to copy and paste a single step within the same zap, after I select copy, there is no options to “Paste below” or “Paste to replace.”

Hi @lindy,

Ensure browser compatibility, clear cache, and cookies, and turn off interfering extensions. Updating the browser and Zapier platform, testing with a different browser, and reviewing Zap configuration may help. If the issue persists, contacting Zapier Support with relevant details is recommended. Checking account permissions and known issues on Zapier's forums can provide further insights.

I hope these steps help you resolve the issue. If you continue to experience difficulties, please don't hesitate to ask for further assistance. We're here to support you.

Thanks so much for confirming that, @lindy. If Jammer’s suggestions don’t do the trick, would you mind sharing a screenshot showing the exact action you’re trying to copy and paste?

When I copy a supported action step, like a Zapier Tables one for example, the Paste below and Paste to replace options still appear:
