Our use case is to grab all mentions in a guest tenant and then send a direct chat message to a Teams user or post to an “native” Teams group chat.

It appears the Teams connector will not grab any external Teams that a user is a Guest user for.

Is this true?

Is there any workaround?

Quick check - are you asking about mentioning guest users in your Teams chat? If that's the case, I'm afraid it's not possible right now. However, we do have an open feature request for this functionality. Please let me know if you’d like to get added to that.
