I’m trying to get CallRail to talk to Vendasta CRM. There is a template in Zapier for this connection. However, though it seems to test fine (test creates a record in CRM), when I try it in the real world with an actual phone call to a CallRail phone number, it doesn’t transfer any data. I have verified that CallRail is getting the call. I have verified that Zapier appears to connect to my CallRail account. I have also, to my knowledge, verified that Zapier is connecting properly to the CRM. But obviously there is something that is not correct.

Is there someone out there that can help me troubleshoot this?

Hi @Rimshot

If you are looking to hire help, there is a directory of Certified Zapier Experts: https://zapier.com/experts

For us to have more info, post screenshots showing:

  • how your Zaps steps are outlined
  • how your Zap steps are configured in EDIT mode with the field mappings visible

@Rimshot

Things to check/try:

  • Make sure. your Zap is turned ON
    • Zaps work while turned ON for new data going forward
  • Make sure you are testing for conditions that match your Zap trigger step configuration
  • Check your Zap Runs history for activity and errors/issues: https://zapier.com/app/history/
    • Check the DATA IN/OUT for each step to help you trace/troubleshoot

Zap is on.

Zap history shows no activity at all.

I’m not sure what conditions I need in my settings. What I’m trying to accomplish is that when a call comes in, that the name and phone number associated with the call are used to create a new record in vendasta CRM. Since this is really my first production Zap, I’m just guessing at some of this. However, I did start with the Zapier template for connecting callrail and vendasta. I even used the AI for troubleshooting prior to asking for help here. At this point I don’t know if the problem is with the Zap or in one of the other platforms.

Please let me know if you any other insights or suggestions. I do appreciate your help.

@Rimshot

When you tested the call via CallRail, was it for the Account and Company shown in the screenshot below?

I got it resolved. Your suggestions to dig deeper helped. Thank you. I needed to tell it to wait to activate the trigger until the call was completed.

Thank you for your assistance.

Wow! Thank you for confirming that Troy’s resolution got the Zap running. This will significantly help our Community members to have as a reference for the same issue.
