Question

Connect to Linkedin and execute a search on candidates

I am creating a zap which triggers a file with search criteria on Linkedin. I am stuck with the step connecting to Linkedin and perform the search for candidates based on the criteria. I am also using gpt-5 and agent mode to connect to linkedin via mcp from zapier. When i do it manually in gpt-5 it works, but not in zapier. it keeps testing and testing. But has an error:

This ChatGPT (OpenAI) step hit an error

Required field "Server Label" (mcp_server_label) is missing. Required field "Server URL" (mcp_server_url) is missing.

Any ideas, who can help? Thanks.

​@doctorstrange When you say it “keeps testing and testing”, what do you mean here?

Andrew, thanks for your reply, i corrected it. Please check the error i copied into the original message:

Required field "Server Label" (mcp_server_label) is missing. Required field "Server URL" (mcp_server_url) is missing.
 

I have copied the mcp_server_url into the configuration but it is still missing information.

Were you able to get this sorted? 

If not, can you confirm whether you’ve got Developer Mode enabled in your OpenAI account?

Looking at the documentation here it seems that ChatGPT only supports MCP tools when developer mode is enabled:

So I’m wondering if that might be why it’s not passing the server label as expected.
