I have a paid plan from ChatGPT, I have ChatGPT Plus, and I am on my free trial with Zapier but it is not letting me use ChatGPT in my Zap. Please help.

But I do have a paid account. I have ChatGPT Plus.

Having an OpenAI account connected to a payment source for billing is different from paying for a ChatGPT Plus.

@Troy Tessalone  thanks for clarifying that it’s not the same thing (openai paid account vs chatgpt4 paid). could you also let us know what is the solution to get this “test action” to go through? are you implying that we also need to upgrade to an OPENAI account in order to use the chatGPT integrations? please provide the necessary steps on this thanks!

Hope you don’t mind me stepping in here for Troy to confirm that a paid OpenAI plan is needed if you’re wanting to use the ChatGPT app on Zapier. The ChatGPT app uses OpenAI’s API to send that information to and from OpenAI, so you would need to be on one of their paid API plans: https://openai.com/pricing
 
As mentioned in one of the FAQ’s on that pricing page, ChatGPT Plus are considered separate subscriptions:

"No, the ChatGPT API and ChatGPT Plus subscription are billed separately. The API has its own pricing, which can be found at https://openai.com/pricing. The ChatGPT Plus subscription covers usage on chat.openai.com only and costs $20/month."


With the “You exceeded your current quota, please check your plan and billing details” error, OpenAI have a help article here which mentions that if you’re on a free plan, you’d need to upgrade to a higher pay-as-you-go (OpenAI) plan. Otherwise, if you’re in need of a temporary increase you can apply for one using their OpenAI Quota Increase Request form.
