I’m creating a zap to add a contact from a Google Ads Lead Form into my MailChimp mailing list audience.

I’ve tested the Zap and the record Firstname, Lastname, email address was successfully added in MailChimp however, the Source is labeled as “Zapier”. I’ve tried to edit the source to “GoogleAd” but it continues to set the source a Zapier?

Could this be because I’m using a Free version of Zapier?

Hi @jeb

The reason the Source is set as Zapier is because the the integration to Mailchimp is Zapier.

Data Flow: GAds > Zapier > Mailchimp

You would need to use another field to define a custom Source.

Why does it allow me to modify the source field in data out?

Hey @jeb, just checking in - were you able to use another field to define a custom source as Troy suggested?

Also, just wanted to clarify that we allow values in the Data Out (like that Source field) to be modified for testing purposes. Check out our Modify test records in Zaps guide for more details.

Keep us posted on how you got on, want to make sure you’ve got everything you need! 🙂
