Cannot find "Last Comment Body" field in Zendesk "Updated Ticket" trigger

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to build a Zap that triggers when a Zendesk ticket is updated. My goal is to use a Filter to look for a specific string of text within the latest internal note/comment added to the ticket.

However, when I try to set up my Filter (or a Formatter step), I cannot find the field for "Last Comment Body", "Plain Body", or anything that represents the actual text of the most recent comment. I only see general fields like Tags, Status, and ID.

A few details:

  • Trigger: Zendesk - Updated Ticket.

  • Sample Data: I have already pulled a fresh sample record (Find New Records) after adding a new internal note to the ticket in Zendesk.

  • Issue: Even with the new sample, the field containing the comment text is missing from the dropdown list in Zapier.

Does anyone know if this field has a different name in the latest Zendesk integration, or if there's a specific setting in Zendesk I need to enable so Zapier can "see" the comment content?

Yeah I’ve run into this before.

The “Updated Ticket” trigger doesn’t reliably expose the latest comment body, that’s why you’re not seeing “Last Comment Body”.

You usually need to either:

  • switch to a trigger that includes comments, or

  • pull the comments separately via Zendesk API / Zapier action

I can help you set it up so it reliably captures the latest internal note and filters it properly.

Try adding this Zap action: Zendesk - Find Latest Comment

Map the Ticket ID from Zap step 1.
