Can Notion be triggered on a new comment? and can Zapier see the comment?

When we add comments to a notion database item, we need this to trigger zapier. We need zapier to search the comment for a certain hashtag and perform an automation if the hashtag is present.

When I try to use the standard Notion trigger (updated database item)  I don’t see the text in the comments. But I’ve seen other posts here where people talk about notion comments firing a trigger. How can Zapier see the text in comments?

Hi @ocwayne

Available Notion triggers/actions: https://zapier.com/apps/notion/integrations#triggers-and-actions

You’d likely have to use the Notion API.: https://developers.notion.com/reference/retrieve-a-comment
