Business Instagram Account not Prepopulating when Configuring New Zap with Instagram Business App Update
Hello! Because of the Business Instagram/Meta Zap migration that is required, I am attempting to recreate a new zap that is triggered when a new IG post is published. I have a Business Instagram account (I have confirmed this) and I have the Meta Business Suite for Facebook. However, when I go to configure the zap, my Instagram account does not populate:
I found a different help thread that has since closed that recommended that I check Business Integrations under settings on my Facebook to ensure that I have allowed Zapier to integrate with my Business Facebook page. Interestingly enough, I don’t even have the Business Integrations button on my account? Instead, I had to go to my Meta Suite, find “Integrations” and then Zapier didn’t populate. Only an integrated platform called Gipper. There is no ability to add another Integration here or change any settings (beyond removing an integration:
And based off of that alert at the top, it seems that Zapier is partially connected? But I’m not sure how to close the loop here. Please help!

Hi @Meckenna,
Welcome to the Community.
To start troubleshooting your Instagram Business account to Zapier, ensure it's a Business Account (not Personal or Creator) linked to a Facebook Page under Instagram's settings. Check Facebook's Business Integrations to confirm Zapier has full permissions. If not, add Zapier and grant access. Reconnect your Instagram account in Zapier via the "Connected Accounts" section. If the issue persists, contact Zapier Support for further assistance.
I hope this helps. If you have any other questions or need further clarification, feel free to ask.
Hi, I have the same issue as you show in your first screenshot, I have double checked, I have Business acount, I have give permission to Zapier on facebook, but I can’t get zapier to connect. If you find out how to fix it please let me know
A.
@Paodin I’ll keep you in the loop on the solution. Do you remember how you got Zapier permissions on your Facebook? I think that’s the second part of my issue.

Do you have instructions on how to add Zapier and grant access?

hi, if you go to facebook settings - search in setting for business integrations, I have zapier listed, ( screenshot above) I removed it. The in zapier, when you add Instagram for business connector you have to reauthorize with facebook and it will reapear in face book busuiness integrations and have this detail below
I connects to my facebook account (email address) but I don’t get to select which subbaccount I want to use
argh! If I type a value you in manually it won’t work either
Hi friends,
Meta has announced that the Instagram Basic Display API powering Zapier’s Instagram integration will be deprecated today, December 4, 2024. As a result, any Zaps using the Instagram app will stop functioning on this date.
To maintain functionality, please migrate your Zaps to the Instagram for Business integration, which offers the same key features and more.
If you aren't seeing your account in the list, we are seeing this issue come up for a few users but are able to fix it by doing the following. One customer found that they needed to give Zapier (on Facebook) permission to grant 'Access profile and posts from the Instagram account connected to your Page':
Click on Linked Accounts in the permissions section:
Click on View if Instagram isn't connected. If it is connected, disconnect it and then click view:
Reconnect the Instagram account:
After making this change, you'll need to make a new connection to Instagram to see the pages in the Zap editor.
Can you try to reconnect the account after checking the above permission? To refresh your app connection, follow these steps:
Head to the Zap
Select the dropdown holding the list of accounts
Click on Change then "Connect a new account" and follow the prompts
Return to your Zap
Let me know once you have had a chance to get to the above, I'll keep an eye out for your reply!
Hello @ken.a ! I did everything you recommended. Business Integrations is now showing up on Facebook (and it wasn’t before, which is good). Even still, once I get to the Configure, there is still no Instagram Account to Use.
The account is linked in the Set-up though ( I relinked it so it shows up now as #4)…
What’s the difference between the Set Up Account and the Configure Account? Why is it showing up in the Set Up but not in the Configure?
Hi @Meckenna,
Thanks for giving that a try!
I did some digging into this, and it seems like the issue you’re experiencing is a bug with Instagram for Business app. I have gone ahead and alerted our team in charge of this integration, so that they can review this issue further. While I can't provide an ETA for when this issue might be resolved, we will reach out to you via email once it is.
