Buffer doesn't register Google Drive link as media

Hi,

I created a social media content planner within airtable and would like to automatically send a post to the Buffer queue once I change the status of a record to ‘Scheduled‘.

Each record represents a content piece. Some of the content pieces include not only text but also media.

This works really well if I pull the media (e.g. Youtube video or Linkedin image) directly from an attachment field within the record, meaning I first have to upload the media to airtable itself.

However, if I choose a google drive link of the media (which is also a field in each record / content piece), then the zap fails as soon as it reaches the part where it wants to send the media to Buffer. The sharing option is set to public within google drive.

My question is, how can I use google drive as my cloud storage (I have better organization and more space there) and pull the media from a google drive url within the airtable record to send to the scheduler?

Do I need to make google drive a part of the zap and somehow connect the airtable record with the media within google drive? If so, how?

I’m very new to this so I really hope this made some sense. Any help is very much appreciated, thank you!

Hi Troy, thanks for the help! This worked.

If I wanted to convert the normal drive link I add to airtable to an instant download link (pasted into a new field), would I have to set up a zap to do the exact same that this tool does, basically a text formatter?
