When a new record is added to a Zapier table from a Zapier Interface, a second, blank record is also added. The result is one blank record between each actual record in the table. How do I stop the blank record from appearing and why is it so difficult to find an answer to this seemingly easy question?

I’ve spent hours trying to figure this out and I’m about to either poke my eyes out or give up on Zapier because none of the zaps I create actually work so I have to keep ditching them and figure out a different zap that will do the same thing. I thought that using all Zapier products (interfaces, tables, email, etc.) would be seamless and make it easier to find solutions to problems I encounter, but I was so wrong. Not only do my zaps using Gmail, Google Sheets and Excel work a million times better, there are way more questions and solutions in the community for those products than the actual Zapier products. As I type this I’m asking myself why I’m even still using a Zapier table…..

Hi there, @Farrah H. 👋

I’m really sorry to hear how frustrating this has been. It sounds like you’ve put a ton of time and effort into trying to get things working, and I can absolutely understand how discouraging it must feel to keep running into issues. I’d love to help get things sorted.

This issue of the blank record that is being created, each time a new record is added via the Interfaces form, definitely shouldn’t be happening. It’s not something I’ve come across myself, so I’m wondering if there might be another Zap in your account that’s also triggering when a new record is added to the Table, which is possibly creating the blank record. Do you think that could be the case?

If not, would you be able to share some screenshots showing the set up of the form and table, and any Zaps linked to them? That should help us get a better idea of what might be going on. Just be sure to blur or remove any personal info (names, emails, addresses etc.) from the screenshots—you can use a tool like Zappy for that.

Looking forward to working through this with you! 🙂

Hi Sam,

Thanks for reaching out. I have only one zap that is importing information into the table:

Hi Sam B,

Checking in to see if you have any recommendations to get rid of the extra row/record that is being created in Zapier tables.

Thanks!

@Farrah H.

Submitting the Zapier Interfaces Form will automatically create a record in the Zapier Table.

So if you have a Zap that triggers from a Zapier Interface Form Submission then create a Zapier Table record, that explains why you are getting a duplicate Zapier Table record.
