Automating Asana tasks based on Google Form responses in Zapier

I am having trouble connecting my zapier with asana that once a task is received, their deliverables are sent back to them requiring them to fill out a google form. Based on the form response if the client response to one of the question “Approved” or “Requesting Revisions” that the task should automatically be triggered to “approved” or “requested revisions” in the asana sections. however that trigger doesnt seems to work.

any suggestions?

Hi @FBCG Comms

Help us have more info by posting screenshots showing how your Zap steps are outlined and configured in the CONFIGURE tab while in EDIT mode with the field mappings visible, along with elaborating what specific fields you are having trouble configuring in the Zap step.

Hey @FBCG Comms,

There are a lot of things that can be going wrong with your workflow. I would structure what you are trying to achieve with two Zaps-

First Zap-

  • Task moved to a Section trigger
  • Send Email with Google Forms Link

Second Zap-

  • New Form Response trigger
  • Find Task ID by Client email.
  • Paths by Zapier
  • Path 1(If approved)
    • Add Task to Section of Project(Approved Section)
  • Path 2(If requesting revisions)
    • Add Task to Section of Project(Requesting Revision Section)

Here is a helpful article about Paths in Zapier- https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/8496288555917-Add-branching-logic-to-Zaps-with-Paths. You should have client email in the task to find task id or some other unique identifier than can be searched from the Google Form data. Hope it helps!
