Asana / NetSuite Integration "The reference name for the 'entity' field is currently not supported" error

Hello Community!

I am currently mapping and testing Asana/NetSuite Integrations.  I’m experiencing a couple of issues during my testing:

  1. When mapping Asana Vendor Name with NetSuite’s Entity_Reference Name to create Purchase Orders, I receive the following error message:
The app returned "The reference name for the 'entity' field is currently not supported. Provide an ID value for this field instead.".
  2. I have not mapped any Asana fields to NS’s Rate and Amount field, however, each test has a default value of $237.54.

Any troubleshooting recommendations?

@ITSystems Instead of entity name, you should be mapping an entity ID field, if there is one?

Hi @ITSystems

Help links for understanding expected values for dropdown fields: https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/8496241696141-Add-custom-values-to-dropdown-menu-fields-in-Zaps

You may need to add another Zap step: NetSuite - Find Record

Find the record by the Name to get the Record ID to map.

As well, you can create a record if it was not found.

Hey there @ITSystems 👋

Andrew and Troy are correct, that error does indeed appear to be due to the NetSuite action expecting to receive the ID for the entity rather than it’s name. Have you had a chance to give the Find Record Troy suggested a try yet?

With the $237.54 amount that’s continually appearing despite no values being mapped to the Amount field, I wonder if it might be getting that amount from a specific product/item that’s selected in a different field 🤔 Can you share a screenshot (with any personal info like names, emails etc. removed) showing the current set up of that action so we can check whether that’s the case?

Thank you, everyone, for the suggestions!

@SamB - In speaking with my NetStuie Admin, she mentioned that she has seen this happen often, where the new record will grab the amount from the last record.  I did test mapping an Asana price field to the amount field, and the record still showed the $237.54 amount.  Do you want a screenshot of the Zap?

Yes please @ITSystems! 🙏 If you can share screenshots showing the setup of theNetSuite action that’s creating the purchase order that’ll help us to see there’s nothing there that might be causing the issue.

It would be super strange for it to take the amount value from a previous record instead of using the value thats provided, so if the action is setup correctly then it might be a bug.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
