Question

Airtable tables not loading in Zap editor (base/account visible, tables list empty)

I'm experiencing an issue where Zapier can see my Airtable account and base correctly, but the table selection dropdown remains empty for that base — no tables show as options in any trigger/action step.

This integration was working normally in previous Zaps and only recently stopped working. No changes were made on the Airtable side (table structure, permissions, or sharing) around the time this started.

Troubleshooting already completed:

Confirmed all tables load normally when logging into Airtable directly (not a base/table-level issue on Airtable's side)

Checked Zapier and Airtable status pages — no active incidents affecting Airtable integration (only an unrelated BambooHR incident was listed)

Fully deleted the Airtable connection in Zapier (Settings → Connections) and reconnected from scratch

Reconnected via the OAuth flow (Connect button → chose "give access to all data" / all current and future bases, rather than restricting to specific resources)

Tried in both an existing Zap and a brand-new blank Zap — same result in both

Cleared cache / tried an incognito browser window — same result

Confirmed I'm the base owner (not a restricted collaborator)

Can I get help on how to solve this?

Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the Community @Jay Manson! 👋

I noticed you also reached out to our Support team about this, and it seems the Airtable account’s API limits have been hit so we can’t load the tables. Sharing their recommendation here:

I checked our logs for the requests Zapier makes when loading your Airtable tables, and Airtable is returning a 429 (Too Many Requests) response. That lines up with what you're seeing: the account and bases load, but the table list (and even a custom table ID) fails because Airtable is blocking further API calls.

This usually means the Airtable workspace has hit its monthly API usage limit, or is temporarily rate-limited. Zapier can't raise that limit from our side.

Next, I recommend:

  1. In Airtable, open your workspace settings and check current API usage for this month.
  2. Wait until usage resets, or upgrade your Airtable plan for higher API limits: https://airtable.com/pricing
  3. Once the limit clears, go back into your Zap, reselect the Base, and open the Table dropdown again.

Here's our help article on this: Airtable error: API billing plan limit exceeded

Once the limit clears, can you let us know if the tables load properly again? Want to make sure this gets sorted!
