Hey! I’m running an automation using Zapier Ai to query OpenAI using an API key. The automation works well when I chose model 4o but it doesn’t work when I choose Model 5. I keep getting a request timeout.

Sorry to hear you’re running into those timeout errors. I did some checking in the OpenAI community and it seems that GPT-5 is intentionally slower than the GPT-4o model which is likely why it’s timing out: https://community.openai.com/t/gpt-5-is-very-slow-compared-to-4-1-responses-api/1337859
That said, I spotted that we’ve got a bug report open for these timeout errors that are affecting certain models, like the GPT-5 one. I’ve added you to the list of folks being affected by that issue. I can’t make any promises around when you can expect it to be fixed but you’ll be sure to get an email notification from us as soon as it is.
For the time being, I’d recommend using the GPT-4o model, instead of GPT-5.
