How can I integrate a PJ into Notion by retrieving it from a shared Outlook mailbox?

Hello,

I need to create an automation from Outlook to Notion:
From a shared mailbox, new mails should bring up information in a Notion database, including PJs.
However, the PJs are detected, but they don't go up.
I've tried the “New Email with Attachment” trigger but it excludes emails without PJs and I can't attach this trigger to a shared mailbox.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Thanks for confirming that, @Laulyle! 🙂

I did some checking and it looks like the attachment files are supplied in a field called Files so you’d need to select that field in your Notion action instead:

One thing to note on that is that according to the help text for a Files & Media type of Notion field, files would be linked to rather than uploaded to Notion:

And in the case of multiple attachments, it would link to a zipped folder that contains both file attachments.

Can you try selecting the Files field from the New Email trigger instead and let me know how it goes?

Hi @Laulyle, welcome to the Community! 🎉

By “PJs” I assume you’re referring to attachment, is that correct? The New Email trigger for Microsoft Outlook supports shared mailboxes so it should be working. 🤔

What field do you have selected in the action that’s attempting to upload the attachments to Notion? We don’t have access to your Zaps here so if you can share a screenshot of the Configure section of the Notion action, as well as any errors you might see when testing it, that will allow us to better see what might be preventing the attachment file from being uploaded.

Thanks, I look forward to your reply!

Hi @SamB,

Thanks for your reply. Yes, exactly, PJs is an attachment.

Here are some screenshots about my automation.
The first ones are for my “New Email” trigger (which work fine for everything else).
Then the other screenshots are for my “Notion - Create Database Item” step.
I tested with several “Attachments” but the field remains empty and returns in Notion what can be seen in the print screen (the “{@odata...” elements correspond to the elements of the mail signature).

Thanks for your help !

YAY! That’s fantastic news, @Laulyle! 🎉🎉🎉 I’m so pleased the Files field worked.

Seems like you’re all set for now but if anything else comes up, feel free to reach back out. In the meantime, happy Zapping! ⚡
