New updates or attachments are not updated from asana to wrike

Hi Guys,

I have integrated Cognito forms -> Wrike -> Asana. After that i submitted the form the new task is created in wrike and asana. But in the particular task when i posted any updates or attached any files in asana it's not reflected in wrike on the relevant task i don't know why.

So please provide me the solution for the issue.

Hey @Selva!

The integration you built is a one-way flow of data. Zapier doesn't support 2-way syncing at this point in time. You can sometimes build a Zap to trigger on updates and then concurrently update apps in additional steps, but that doesn't look to be possible for Asana and Wrike - sorry about that!     @jesse I'm not sure that is 100% correct. This would take some testing, but you can trigger off of an updated task in Asana, and create a comment within Wrike.

    Screenshot 2020-01-14 14.48.36.pngYou'd have to have the zap set up for each project, and have to have someway to find the corresponding task in wrike.


    But @Selva The thing to remember as @jesse pointed out, Zapier is not a two way sync, and it's not even a one directional sync. Unless you've built zaps to trigger off of changes within an app (asana) it will not make those changes in another app (wrike).

    One thing that you need to be careful about if you'd like to set up a Zap from Wrike to Asana and Asana to Wrike is that you don't set up a loop.

    For example if you have one Zap that updates Asana if something is updated in Wrike and then another that updates Wrike if something is updated in Asana, then you can end up in a situation where each Zap is constantly triggering the other, in a never ending loop.

    Hey @PaulKortman thanks for the correction here! The limitation I was surfacing was the inability to update a task in Write from an updated task in Asana but you’re right, @Selva could trigger off of an updated Asana task and then create a new comment in Wrike. There isn’t a way to lookup a task to add a comment to, though, so that’s also a limitation to consider in this workflow.

    To echo Danvers, for folks looking to set up a workflow to both make updates and trigger off of updates, it’s a good idea to properly configure the Zap so that a loop isn’t created:  https://zapier.com/help/troubleshoot/behavior/zap-is-stuck-in-a-loop
