"Invalid Syntax: Only numeric values are allowed" when using an IF function

I’m using an IF formula to return value A (“Internal”) or value B (“Public”) depending on what a cell looks like in my Google Sheet.

The error I get is “Invalid Syntax: Only numeric values are allowed”.

I saw a similar post about using JavaScript code, but I’m not sure if this is the correct solution for me let alone how to implement.

Try putting double quotes around the mapped variable.
