Can Conditional/Path Logic only be inserted at the end of a Zap and not in the middle?

After making a zap with 10 steps, I find out that I need conditional logic in the beginning. Is my only way to do that, to copy the full zap and rebuild it within conditional paths?

I find, that I cannot add a Conditional Path step in the middle of a Zap, only at the very end.

Correct. You can only add pathing logic at the end of a zap.

If your zap is complex and you want to keep those steps in place and not rebuild, you could look into using the sub zap feature.
