Seeing a “Cannot read property 'contentUri' of undefined” error in Ringcentral

I keep trying to create this zap where all my automatically recorded ring central phone calls are saved into my google drive once a new recording is generated from a phone call.

I have several other ZAPS created with my ring central account, however for this one, i keep getting this same message:

Common Problems with RingCentral on Zapier

The RingCentral API will only send back the recordings, calls, SMSs, voicemails, etc for the logged in user. If you need to get recordings for other users, you'll need to connect their RingCentral accounts to Zapier and set up a zap for each one. Once you have one zap set up, you can copy it (you can do so by clicking on the down arrow on the right side of the zap from your dashboard and selecting "copy") and then swap out the connected account in the trigger.

I’m logged in under my user name and i’m only trying to move my recordings over.  I am the Ring Central Admin so i’m unsure as to why this is happening.

Can anyone help me please?  Thanks!

Just to circle back on this one, the “Cannot read property 'uri' of undefined” error was due to a bug with the RingCentral integration which has since been resolved. Marking this as solved because the issue is no longer occurring. :)

Hi @nmtrawinskki

Can you provide a screenshot of your Zap error?

Can you provide screenshots of how your Zap steps are configured?

Troubleshooting Tips

  1. Check you app connections here: https://zapier.com/app/connections
  2. Check your Zap runs here for errors: https://zapier.com/app/history/
  3. Make sure the Zap is ON.

Hi @nmtrawinskki

Can you provide screenshots of how your Zap steps are configured?

Based on the errors, it appears one of the data points is being passed a NULL/blank/empty value but it is expecting a value.

Check how your data points are mapped to the different fields.

Try selecting a different record to test with from the trigger.

Sure - there doesn't appear to be much detail here, but here are all three steps, hopefully, you can make something of it.  Thanks!

@nmtrawinskki Might be best to open a ticket with Zapier Support here: https://zapier.com/app/get-help

Is this a known issue with RingCentral/Zapier now? Everyone touts this as being a great feature but it isn’t fully working. I’ve seen many people complaining about this but no official work that I can see.

@CustomerCare

FYI: Most Zap app integrations are maintained by the app developer, rather than Zapier.

Would be best to open a ticket with Zapier Support here: https://zapier.com/app/get-help
