Importing zaps as JSON?


Once we have the choice of exporting a zap as a JSON file, enabling easier edition of certain aspects than the web editor, how is the JSON imported back? Probably it’s me not being able to navigate properly but, I’ve been unable to find the import function to create a new zap from the JSON file… Any hint?

Hi @Nick Lekuona 

If you visit here - https://zapier.com/app/settings/ - and navigate to the “Data Management” tab, you should see an import option in there.

YESSSSSSS!!

Not a very obvious location to put it, but certainly works, thanks!! :blush: Now I can explore how to reorder steps, or copy steps from one zap to another, two functions sorely missing from the web editor...


This moved, or no longer seems to exist, or at least I can’t find it in my Data Management tab

Does anyone know where this import zap option has gone? I’ve a premium account but it has disappeared from Settings - I need to import a zap using json file, any help appreciated!

Hi all, the tab lives under here: https://zapier.com/app/settings/profile - It’s in the upper right corner, click on your avatar, then select Settings.

@steph.n  -- Sorry, your answer is inaccurate. I wasn’t able to found the import option.

And isn’t anywhere in the Settings page.

 

My Profile (nothing related to import options)

 

 

Data Management (only export and delete my data)

 

I can export zap in .json file, but, and if I want to import this file again, or, use it in another account?

How I do that?

Hi there @imrafaelfrota - Thanks for clearing that up! Are you on a Teams account by chance? This feature is only available on Teams accounts.

Hi @steph.n -  Thanks for your support. In my opinion don't make sense that option, but ok. I'll think about the cancel process of my premium account, if the Teams account are the only option to able the import.
