Question

How do I have a zap so that a slack list continuously updates in a google sheet?

Litlle backgroud: I created a form in slack that turns into a list in slack, then updates a google sheet with the info gathered in the form. The problem is, when an update is made to the list, it does not update in google sheets. We are using the form/list/google sheet as a log of questions and responses to the CEO. Can someone help me create a zap that will update the google sheet when the list is updated? If this is just not doable- anyone know a better system in slack to use for the same purpose? Thank you in advanced this has been frustrating!

Hi @BarMD Prep Team,

Welcome to the Community.

You'll need a workaround to update a Google Sheets row when a Slack list is updated since Slack lacks a specific trigger for list updates in Zapier. Use the "New Message Posted to Channel" trigger in Slack, apply a Zapier filter to detect specific text indicating a list update, and then use the "Update Spreadsheet Row" action for Google Sheets. This assumes updates appear as Slack messages. Alternatively, consider using project management tools like Trello or Asana, which offer better Zapier integration for updates.

I hope this information helps. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you need further assistance.
