Change Google Sheets Permission on Dubsado Project Mapped Field

I am trying to change a Google Sheet permissions on a set date by using a Dubsado Project Mapped Field (example: on June 5, 2025 (which is a Dubsado Mapped Project Date) change a Google Sheet permissions to View Only).

I’ve successfully created Google Folders and copied (as well as create) Google Sheets into the folder in previous zaps, but I am struggling with this particular Zap. So far, I have outlined the following steps:

  1. Dubsado Event Trigger (Project Status Update)
  2. Filter by Zapier - only continue if Dubsado Workflow is [NAME]
  3. Google Sheet - Find Worksheet in [NAME] Account (Drive/Spreadsheet/Title)

What would follow next?

Hoping this can work! Thanks!

Hi @Lucasano,

Welcome to the Community.

To automate changing file permissions on a specific date, use Zapier's "Delay" action with the Dubsado project date, then "Lookup Spreadsheet Row" in Google Sheets to find the row associated with that event. Use Google Drive's "Update File" action to set the file's permissions to "View Only" using the file ID from the previous step. Test each step for accuracy.

Let us know if you have further questions.

Thank you for the warm welcome!

The entire Google Sheet is associated with the event so there is no specific row I want to target, unless this is a workaround and I should select any random row in order for this to work?

Hi @Lucasano,

If you're trying to trigger an action based on changes to an entire Google Sheet (not just a specific row), you might want to use the "New or Updated Spreadsheet Row" trigger in Zapier. This trigger will run whenever any row in the selected Google Sheet is updated or a new row is added.
