Question

How do I convert multiple choice answers from Typeform into separate tags in ClickUp via Zapier?

I've built a Typeform on Webflow and integrated it with ClickUp using Zapier. The issue I'm facing is with multiple choice answers. I want each selected option to be converted into separate tags in ClickUp, but right now they're just coming through as plain text.

Has anyone managed to solve this?

Hi @Smekis,

Welcome to the Community. To solve the issue of multiple choice answers being sent as plain text instead of separate tags in ClickUp, you need to adjust your Zapier setup. Add a “Formatter by Zapier” step after your Typeform trigger to split the text into separate tags. Choose the “Text” action event, select ‘Split Text’ in the ‘Transform’ field, and input the multiple-choice question from Typeform. Use a comma as the separator. Test this step to ensure it works, then map these items as separate tags in the ClickUp action step. Finally, test the entire Zap to confirm everything functions correctly.

Let us know if this helps you with your Zap.

Hi @Smekis

For us to have more info, post these screenshots:

  • How your Zap steps are outlined and configured in EDIT mode
  • How the data is returned from Typeform that you are trying to use
