Question

Can I link a GitHub branch or pull request to an issue?

GitHub issues allow you to link a branch or pull request to an issue. In our typical workflow, we manually link the pull request associated with an issue, which makes GitHub automatically close the issue when the pull request is merged.

I could not find a way to link a branch or pull request to an issue using Zapier. Am I missing something?

Hi @oliveryasuna,

Welcome to the Community.

Zapier does not directly support linking a GitHub branch or pull request to an issue. However, you can use GitHub’s automation by including “closes” followed by the issue number in the pull request description to link and close the issue upon merging. Alternatively, you can use Zapier’s GitHub and Slack integrations to notify a Slack channel of new pull requests, allowing manual linking.
