Question

Connecting OpenPhone and Zapier via Webhooks

Our voip provider has a set up where we can install a web hook.

https://support.openphone.co/hc/en-us/articles/4690754298903-How-to-use-webhooks#how-to-use-webhooks-0-0

For the world of me I can not figure out a way to add a zappier web hook there to make a record of the calls, messages, and so forth.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi @Mario Dima

Good question.

Why not use the OpenPhone Zap app integration that has these available triggers/actions?

Hi @Mario Dima

When you create a zap you select webhook as the trigger and then catch hook as the event. On the test trigger tab you’ll get the link and then you can place that into the Openphone webhooks tab under settings.

The integrations that Troy mentioned have the same functions as the webhook though.

Thanks for starting this thread, does anyone know if I could pull contact information from OpenPhone callers into Monday.com using this webhook?  It appears that the update contact is a action that is available for OpenPhone, but I’d like to have it be the trigger for a zap.

Basic idea is that I update the contact information for the caller in OpenPhone after I speak with them, then it would be brought over into Monday.com.

Thanks for any insight!

Hey @Troy Tessalone thanks for the reply!

Ok nice I’ll give that a try, the screenshot you sent helped for sure.  I was trying to figure out how to do the initial pull of the contact info.

I’ll try later this afternoon, thank you again.

Best,
Wade

@Wade_

You’ll need to test the OpenPhone event (e.g. Update Contact) in order for OpenPhone to send data to the Zap webhook trigger that was configured in OpenPhone.

Then you can test your Zap trigger to pull thru the data to configure the Zap action steps.
