Question

Fields are not showing from Google Sheets

Hi!

I have a Zap that (1) create/duplicate a Google Sheet template, then (2) creates a row on a specific worksheet of the newly created spreadsheet.

The problem is I cant access the Fields or headers of the worksheet in Zap so I can populate records to the sheet.

Any advice on how to solve this problem?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @mina penna -

so not being able to manipulate a duplicated template is a known issue with Zapier. Editable rows are only available when you select a Google Sheet by name, not by ID.

I came up with a work around but it may eat up a lot of tasks.

instead of copying your template and then adding your new row -

add the new row to the template THEN copy it. Once that’s done the copy will have your data.

After however you’re going to have to use more steps to essentially undo what you did to the template version to reset it to its template state.

hope that helps!
