I am having an issue with a zap I am creating that when using the step “Create Spreadsheet Row” in google sheets it is not functioning the way I would like it to. You can see in the screenshot below I have 5 categories that I would like to have running lists of names/dates. When adding a name and date to the “Late Strike” category it will add to row 15 which is the bottom row. When adding a name and date to the “No Show Strike” category it will also add to row 15 since that is the bottom of the first column. I would like it to add to the bottom of each category. Does anyone know how I can achieve this?

Hi @Tclay09

Help links for using GSheets in Zaps: https://zapier.com/apps/google-sheets/help

Specifically, how GSheets need to be formatted to work in Zaps: https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/8496276985101-Work-with-Google-Sheets-in-Zaps

@Tclay09

You would be better served trying the approach of structuring your data vertically instead of horizontally.

Use Airtable instead of GSheets.

Use 1 Table with 3 columns:

  • Strike Type
  • Name
  • Date

In Airtable, you can create Views, which are segments of data. (filter, sort, group, show/hide fields, reorder fields)

Hi there @Tclay09! 👋

Did you manage to get things solved by adjusting the format of the spreadsheet or by switching from Google Sheets to Airtable as Troy suggested?
