I have a zap setup to create a lead and assign it to a specific person, but when it runs th lead is being assigned to the SFDC admin

Salesforce is a bit of a mindfield because of all the possible fields.
 

The most likely explanation is that either you aren’t assigning it to the field you think you are or their isn’t an exact match between your assignment and the names or ids in that field. Any discrepancy means salesforce tends to return the default response which I guess is probably SFDC admin in your case.

Check you have an exact match first if you have then double check for any similar fields that may be populating in Salesforce. Without looking at the zap its a bit of guesswork.

There could also be Salesforce automations configured that are overriding what you’ve configured in the Zap.
