We cannot establish a zap when trying to create a new opportunity in Zoho CRM from a new quote that has been entered into Xero. The error we receive is:

Unable to create entry in module: Contacts. Error : Invalid data for the field id. Detail : expected_data_type bigint, parent_api_name Account_Name

After following the logic from the post from SamB on a related question, it seems that Xero does not create a unique customer ID that is numerical only.

What would be the solution? Is there some way to create this unique customer ID when importing across to Zoho CRM, or change the settings in Zoho to accept the alphanumerical customer ID from Xero?

Any feedback or advice would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Kind regards,

Jake L

Hi @KegsOffTap!

As far as I’m aware, It’s not possible to change the format of the customer ID for either Xero or Zoho.

In most cases, if you’re trying to find a field that’s unique to a customer that would be the same in different apps, the best option is to use email address. If the email address of a customer is the same in Xero as it is in Zoho, you can use that to either search for an existing contact/account or to create a new one. I hope that helps, if you need some more troubleshooting on this, the Support team can take a look at the different steps in your Zap with you and may be able to suggest something that will work for your individual case. You can contact them using the Get Help form
