Dears,

I try more than one time and different tutorial to solve this but I can’t.

the problem:

  • I need to convert the google form entry to Wordpress post (included an image as a feature image)
  • the post created well but the image not send to wordpress.
  • get this error “WordPress ran into an issue. Error code 500: Sorry, you are not allowed to upload this file type.”
  • try different file types but not accepted!!

How to solve this problem .

Hi @AhmedAlnaqa

Good question.

The File expects a public direct download link to the file.

Tool to help you understand the correct URL to use: https://sites.google.com/site/gdocs2direct/

the tools is not working at all!!

I found a Direct URL option and it’s download the file directily when I use the provied link in the below picture.

I try to change the file like this

but still have error :

WordPress ran into an issue. Error code 500: Sorry, you are not allowed to upload this file type.

@AhmedAlnaqa

Supported WordPress file types: https://wordpress.com/support/accepted-filetypes/

error :

WordPress ran into an issue. Error code 500: No file was uploaded.

@AhmedAlnaqa

Try without double quotes in the file name.

@AhmedAlnaqa

What file type are you trying to upload?

I try:

jpeg

jpg

png

@AhmedAlnaqa

Is the actual file link an accepted file format?

Can you post an example link you are trying to upload?

Not just the File Name field.

First of all I want to thank you for ur effort and support me.😘

Yes this link refer to the direct file with the right extension

Hi there @AhmedAlnaqa🙂

The file link needs to be publicly accessible - meaning that whoever clicks on the link can access the file without needing to log into a Google account that has permission to access the file.

When I clicked on the link you referenced previously I saw a “You need access” message:

So it appears that you’d need to change the permissions for the file in order for WordPress to be able to access the file. You can find out more about what’s needed in order to send files between different apps here: Send files in Zaps

Can you try updating the permissions for the file on Google Drive so that anyone who has the link would be able to access it? Then test the Wordpress action again to see if it’s then able to upload the file successfully.

Looking forward to hearing how that goes!

Thanks SamB,

I will try and check ..

but do u recommend and zap that support:

a form to entry data and image and send to WordPress as a target

instead of google forms.

Thanks for getting back to me, @AhmedAlnaqa. Hopefully updating the file access permissions will resolve things.🤞

I can’t really recommend which app would be best for you to use but there are a number of other form apps available that could potentially be used to transfer a file and form data to WordPress. You can view the full list of form apps available on Zapier here: https://zapier.com/apps/categories/forms

Hope that helps. Please do keep us updated on how you get on!
