I want to trigger a Jira ticket to be created when a Salesforce Case is updated

I was getting an error:
“Could not find new records of "Case" object: We're not able to use this object type. Please use the help link below to contact Zapier support for more information / assistance.”

The trigger i was using:

  • “Updated Field on Record in Salesforce”
  • Object: “Case”
  • Picked a field and then the value to be changed to

Its not finding any test data and also not allowing me to turn it on

Are “cases” not supported? When will this be supported? Is there another way around this? To create a Jira ticket when the case is updated or changed in some way?

Hi @hugh_hopkins123

Is there a Salesforce Case that matches those conditions?

Try adjusting a sample Case, then pulling thru new trigger samples.

Thanks Troy for taking a look at this. There is definitely sample data, i.e. Cases that match my criteria in my Salesforce instance, but it wasnt pulling anything through

@hugh_hopkins123

Have you checked the available help articles for the Salesforce Zap app?

@Troy Tessalone Is it that Zap triggers only for records created after the Zap is turned on? And will not work on updates to existing cases?

Hi @Karan-PinkSamurais

Zaps work when turned ON for new/updated data going forward.

Hi Troy, i have tried going through the articles but none seem to be fitting my purpose

I have used other Zaps for Salesforce → slack and they are all working fine

Its just this particular one that i cannot get right

@hugh_hopkins123  i am currently trying workflow and outbound message option. https://zapier.com/help/doc/tips-and-tricks-salesforce-triggers-and-actions

Worth giving it a shot.

Might be best to open a ticket with Zapier Support to troubleshoot further: https://zapier.com/app/get-help
