How to Automatically Forward WhatsApp Messages to Email

Here are the three (3) methods you can use;

Method 1: Using Zapier to Automate the Process (For Advanced Users)

Zapier, a robust online automation tool, connects your favorite apps and automates workflows. If you’re tech-savvy and ready to take on a bit of a challenge, this method might be for you!

Here are the steps to automatically forward your WhatsApp messages to your email using Zapier:

  • Create a Zapier account: If you don’t already have one, sign up for a free account on Zapier’s website.
  • Connect WhatsApp to Zapier: Zapier offers a WhatsApp Business API. Connect your WhatsApp account to Zapier by following the instructions provided.
  • Create a Zap: In Zapier, a ‘Zap’ is an automated workflow that connects your apps and services. Create a new Zap that triggers when a new message is received on WhatsApp.
  • Connect your email account: Add an action to your Zap that sends an email through your preferred email service (like Gmail or Outlook) whenever the Zap is triggered.
  • Customize your email: Specify the details of the email, such as the recipient (your email address), subject, and body (the content of the WhatsApp message).
  • Test your Zap: Once everything is set up, send a test message on WhatsApp to ensure the automation is working properly.
  • Activate your Zap: If the test is successful, turn on your Zap. Every time you receive a new message on WhatsApp, it will automatically be forwarded to your email.

This process may seem daunting, especially if you’re unfamiliar with Zapier. But, it’s a one-time setup and once it’s done, your WhatsApp messages will effortlessly flow into your email inbox.

With that said,  WhatsApp Messenger hasn't built an integration with us yet.

Most new Zapier integrations are built by the company or team that created the app, so I'd recommend you also encourage their team to add their app to Zapier via our developer platform: https://zapier.com/platform

Nevertheless, I've added your vote to our internal app wishlist, and we'll be sure to let you know if/when this app is added to Zapier.

Hi Steve @Watchwait , I am helping a client with a similar request. I am assuming that similar to my client, you do not use the whatsapp API (or you are?).

Is your use case similar to mine where you want to move the convo from whatsapp to email?

Can I clarify 

  1. You want selected whatsapp convos to be sent as 1 email? (one convo to one email)
  2. how frequent?
  3. Do you need the convo to be summarized before sending to email?
