What does the error "(lookup_value) missing error code" mean?

Hello,

I’m a new Zap user and I’m having so much trouble.

My zap is:

  1. Trigger: New event in Stripe
  2. Action: Find or create rows (Google Sheets)
  3. Action: Update Spreadsheet Row in Google Sheets.

I continue to have successful tests on my Zap but, keep receiving emails from Zapier with this:

Error Message:

32 Google Sheets: Required field "Lookup Value" (lookup_value) is missing.

Here is what is in my Find or Create Row Action.

Can someone explain to me why I keep getting Lookup Value missing messages? Thank you for your help.

Hi @fluittsolutions

Check your Zap Runs for the DATA IN/OUT for each Zap step: https://zapier.com/app/history

If you see {{variable}} instead of a populated value, then you know the mapped variable was missing/blank.

You may need to add a Stripe Find Customer as step 2 (using the Customer ID) to get the Customer Email as sometimes not all the data points are available from the trigger.

OR

You may need to add a Filter step as Step 2 to prevent the errors: https://zapier.com/apps/filter/help

Also might be worthwhile to spend time learning about the Zap Basics: https://zapier.com/help/create/basics
