Hi @CarolynArce
Try this instead…
Use Airtable instead of GSheets.
Airtable has Automations. (e.g. When Date field X = TODAY, then do Y.)
Automations have integrations with these apps:
- GCal
- Create Event
- Update Event
- Gmail
- Slack
If you are trying to use Zaps, review the available Zap app triggers/actions and help links.
Hi there, @CarolynArce
Did you have any success with Troy’s suggestion of switching to Airtable? Or do you need to stick with Google Sheets?
If you can’t switch to an app like Airtable or Zapier Tables, use the New or Updated Spreadsheet Row (Google Sheets) trigger and followed by a Create Detailed Event (Google Calendar) action in the Zap. This would add each milestone event to a Google Calendar, whenever a spreadsheet row is updated. Note: You’ll likely want to add a filter to avoid the Zap triggering on new rows that don’t have a value for that milestone date column added yet.
Then, you could have a second Zap that uses an Event Start (Google Calendar) trigger to run a Zap on the day of the milestone event, and send out a notification to the stakeholders. Not sure what sort of notification you’d want to send exactly. If you were wanting to send an email and use the Gmail app for example, you could use Gmail’s Send Email action.
Hope that helps. Keep us updated on how it’s going, happy to lend a hand if you get stuck or have any questions.
