Thanks Troy. I see that there are “zaps”, but I don’t understand how to to use them to generate the report I’m asking about above. These zaps seems to happen related to specific events.
How can the cumulative data of a mailchimp newsletter send (per the fields in my note above) be dumped into a google sheet?
Or is this something out of scope for Zapier?
@mattster
Zaps primarily work on a per record/event basis.
You’d likely have to use the APIs for the different apps to pull bulk data for reports.
Hey @mattster!
You could use the New Campaign trigger for Mailchimp as that would trigger when a new campaign is sent and allow you to add some of that info into a Google Sheet. But, as it doesn’t supply all of the desired information it wouldn’t be ideal for the report you’re looking to generate.
As Troy mentioned, you may be able to achieve this using Zapier and the APIs for Mailchimp, Google Adsense and Amazon Associates to pull together all the desired information into a single Google Sheets spreadsheet. To do that you’d need to reference each app’s API documentation and set up the relevant webhooks in order to obtain the necessary information from each app.
I’m not very familiar with each of those app’s APIs so I can’t give you a breakdown of how exactly to go about this but here are links to some resources which you may find helpful in setting this up:
Alternatively, it may be worth looking for a third-party app that’s specifically focused in data reporting. I don’t know of any specific ones that I can recommend but there may be one out there that’s able to connect each of those apps together and generate the desired report for you.
I hope this helps get you pointed in the right direction. Please do keep us in the loop on how you get on with this! :)
