I want ChatGpt to read emails (gmail) from a specific email address (receipts) and total the charges I have spent with that vendor.

Hi @jmattjack,

Welcome to the Community.

To automate email charge tracking, set up a Zapier workflow integrating Gmail and Google Sheets. Use a Gmail trigger to capture emails from a specific vendor, optionally filtering further. Extract charge amounts using Zapier's Formatter tool and store them in Google Sheets, which automatically sums the values. Periodically review the sheet for total charges. Since ChatGPT doesn't process emails directly, Zapier handles automation, while Google Sheets provides a summary. Let me know if you need refinements.

Feel free to ask if you have any questions or need further assistance setting up this workflow.

Hi @jmattjack 👋

How did you get on with Jammer’s suggestions here? Did they help to point you in the right direction?

If not, perhaps you could try using an Analyze and Return Data (AI by Zapier) action to read the email content and extract the total charge amount. 🤔 You can learn more about how to use that type of action in a Zap here: Use AI by Zapier to analyze and return data. Then you could store the charges in Zapier Tables, or Google Sheets as Jammer suggested, which would then allow you to search for all records/rows for a specific vendor and calculate the total of all charges related to them.

Keep us posted on how you’re getting on, want to make sure you’re all set with this! 🙂
