Hi people,

so I have a zap that when I send an email to a specific email address (let’s name it max@test.com) it uploads the text of the email as a note in Affinity.

My question is, how can I also upload an attachment that is attached in that email forwarded to max@test.com.

And an additional question is: does max@test.com need to be an email address that is only used for this zap or could I find a solution to use an email which I also use for corresponding with other people too, meaning not every email that is ever sent to max@test.com will be uploaded in Affinity but only the ones that I want.

Thanks in advance!

Hey there, @Michael_CalmStorm! Thanks so much for reaching out in the community.

I wanted to pop in and confirm that at the moment the Affinity app doesn’t support uploading attachments to Person, Organization and Opportunity Records. 😔

I did see there was an open feature request for this though that I added your vote to! While it doesn’t guarantee it will be implemented it does allow us to continue tracking and gauge interest. We’ll also be sure to email you and keep this topic updated if and when this does launch.

In the meantime, you could potentially use the Affinity API and Webhooks by Zapier if you’re comfortable! Here’s a few resources to get you started if you’d like to give that a shot:

Full transparency, since this approach is more advanced support will be limited for it. That said, we do have some super technical users that hang out in our coding and webhooks forum. Once you’re up and running, you’re always welcome to ask questions there. 🙂

For your question about filtering your inbox, in the “New Email Matching Search” trigger you can specify a phrase or word you’d like to filter by. 🙂

I hope some of this helps!

Hi @Michael_CalmStorm

Good question.

Try this Zap trigger: Gmail - New Attachment

Hi Troy, thanks for your answer!
Do you also know how to then upload the attachment to another program e.g. Affinity?

@Michael_CalmStorm

Looks like you’d have to use the Affinity API: https://api-docs.affinity.co/#upload-files

App APIs can be used in Zaps with the Webhooks app as an action step: https://zapier.com/apps/webhook/help

Help article about using files in Zaps: https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/8496288813453
