I was wondering if It’s possible to update contact information between 2 platforms without needing to create a new contact.

I use FollowUpBoss and Outlook/RingCentral (these two already work together). I created a Zap where if I create a new Contact in FollowUpBoss, it will create the same new contact in Outlook (which then gets sent to RingCentral since they synchronize). But If I want to update information on a already existing contact, I can’t create a Zap that automates the update of a contact through these two platforms. is there anyway to do this?

Hi @alex perez

You’ve mentioned 3 apps.

Can you clarify which 2 apps you want to update the contact in via Zap steps? (e.g. trigger + action)

Zap apps can be searched here: https://zapier.com/apps

Each Zap app has a profile page that lists the available triggers/actions.

Hey @Troy Tessalone,

Mainly FollowUpBoss and Outlook.

So, if I update a contact’s information in FollowUpBoss, it should automatically update the same contact in Outlook (or vice versa).

@alex perez

NOTE: Zaps are not meant for bi-directional data syncs.

General logic is like this: trigger event > find/create contact > filter (if existing contact found) > update contact

Zap app triggers/actions:

Does not appear either app has a true “updated contact” trigger event.
