Hi,

 

I am using the action - Update Item Status Column Value.

Item ID is pulled from formatted text. 

On test, I get constant error. I am using the JSON formatting as advised.

Monday expects the internal ID of the Item which will be a numeric value.

Would you have a suggestion on how to lookup the item value which would require updating based on contents on the first column? In this case my trigger is in calendly, and ideally we look up the item based on surname (contained already in first column on Monday.)

Unfortunately, the Monday API would have to be involved: https://monday.com/developers/v2

The Monday API can be used in a Zap with the Webhooks action step: https://zapier.com/apps/webhook/integrations#triggers-and-actions

Were you able to get things working with the information from Troy, or can we still help out here?

For looking up specific values, the Monday integration currently only supports returning a list of values from a specific column. So I believe he’s correct in that there would need to be a more advanced solution here that would require working directly with the Monday.com API.
