Update Google Sheet Cell by clearing it

I have columns in a google sheet where I place an “x” in the appropriate cell column to signify that a client has that particular service.

In the zap I'm locating the correct customer row based on their email address and then using the “update row” option to add an “x” in the correct cell column for the service they have purchased.

I have not been successful being able to clear an existing “x” from a cell column using this same method. I tried to just type a “space” with the spacebar in the column that I want to clear the “x” from, however that doesn't seem to work.

Is there another way to get this to work?

You could use a formula instead for the value of the cell.

=”X”

OR

=””
