Timely and Google calendar connection

Hi there,

I’m having issues with the Timely calendar and Google calendar connection.

Apparently, and for some reason I can’t figure it out, the Timely calendar does not connect to Google calendar.

Anyone has a clue about it?

A good first check is whether the issue is on the Timely side, the Google account side, or the Zap setup itself. Zapier does support Timely + Google Calendar connections, so the integration should be possible.

I’d try this in order:

  1. Reconnect Google Calendar in Zapier and make sure you authorize the correct Google account/calendar.
  2. Reconnect Timely in Zapier as a fresh connection.
  3. Test each app separately in Zapier first, to confirm both accounts connect successfully before using them together.
  4. If it still fails, check whether Timely is the correct Timely app in Zapier for your use case, since Zapier shows both Timely and Timely Time Tracking as separate apps.

Hi @Cris Amaral

Help link for using Timely in Zaps: https://support.timely.com/en/articles/5095883-connecting-timely-with-zapier

For us to have more info, post these screenshots:

  • how your Zap steps are outlined
  • how your Zap steps are configured in the CONFIGURE tab while in EDIT mode with the field mappings visible
  • any encountered errors when testing a Zap step

+ more context about the issue you are having configuring the Zap.

Hi @Cris Amaral

Check which Timely app you're using – Zapier has two: "Timely" (calendar) and "Timely Time Tracking" (time tracking). Using the wrong one will fail.

Then try these steps:

  1. Reconnect both apps – Go to Zapier > Apps, remove and re-add both Timely and Google Calendar to refresh expired tokens.

  2. Test separately – Create simple Zaps with just Timely (trigger) and Google Calendar (action) individually to isolate the issue.

  3. Verify Google Calendar permissions – Ensure you selected the correct calendar in the action step and that it's one you own (not read-only).

Important: Zapier access requires Timely's Innovate plan. Also, when connecting Timely for the first time, you may see a dummy login prompt – enter any text (e.g., "N/A") to proceed.
