Shopify triggers are NOT instant, so depending on your Zapier plan it can take from 1-15 minutes to fire.

I feel like I’m turning into a programmer

another order came through and nothing in the airtable is updating for the past 10 minutes. I can’t tell if there’s a delay or if it’s working at all. 

it works. it took 12 minutes. that’s ridiculous.. lol

Depending on your Zapier plan it can take up to 15 minutes for the Zap to trigger.

Check the Zapier Task History to troubleshoot if the Zap is triggering but resulting in an error: https://zapier.com/app/history/

Check the settings on the Shopify trigger step.

FYI: The Shopify app recently updated some triggers so make sure you’re using the correct one.

Lastly, check if the Zap is ON.

I need this to be instant because customers are supposed to message me on manychat to update their order with some additional information, so the data needs to be present in the airtable

To @Troy Tessalone‘s point, update times are a key component of Zapier’s pricing model. If the trigger doesn’t say instant here – and Shopify’s don’t – you’re subject to the time limits on your plan. For instance, if you’re using Free or Starter, zaps update every 15 minutes. Mid-tier plans bring this down to 5 minutes, and the highest-level Company plan is 1 minute. Using Zapier out of the box, that’s as fast as you’ll get.
