Sync Google Drive files

I am trying to sync two google drive documents. The 1 document is a document I am the owner of. The 2nd document is that was shared with me. The file sync is a 1 way sync from the document that is shared with me to the document I am the owner of. The sync can either run when the document is updated or once a day. There is a sample zapier workflow but I am not able to get it to work correctly. Any help or sample screenshots would be appreciated.

Hi @JAM13
I’m Pavel from Zapier Support, and I’ll do my best to assist here.

The setup for this kind of Zap will depend a lot on the type of document you’re trying to sync and what exactly needs to be synced. Could you clarify a couple of things first?

  • Are the files that’s you want to sync Google Docs documents, Google Sheets spreadsheets, or another type of file?

  • When you say sync, do you mean you want the documents to match exactly, or just update specific parts of it (like certain rows, cells, or text sections)?

Once we know those details, we can point you to the best approach. The workflow for syncing data between two Sheets, for instance, is quite different from syncing text between two Docs.

If you can share that info, we’ll help you get this working!
