I’ve read all the suggestions but none quite fit my issue.  This is the error I’m getting.

And this is what I’ve done.  I’m sure it’s not right, but I don’t even see where I” 'm supposed to say 2000 characters or where the “page-content” step even is.  Thanks in advance!

Hi @AK328

For us to have more info, post screenshots showing the encountered error message.

Thanks! I thought I did?  not sure what you mean. reposting a few different views. let me know if this helps and if not, exactly which part of the step you need to see?

The first image below is the block of text that its not happy about.  It’s saying there is a character limit so I need to separate this so it’s not like one big paragraph (at least that’s how I interpret the error).

And this is the entire view of what I’m trying to do and the error.

@AK328

The error indicates you are trying to add too much content to the Notion page.

Notion has a limit of 2,000 characters, but the Zap Run tried to send 5,391 characters.

@AK328

We would need to see screenshots with how your Notion Zap step is configured in the “Configure” section.

Thank you Troy! is this what you need to see?

@AK328

If you are trying to split the content using the Zap action: Formatter > Text > Split

Then you will need to add this Zap step: Looping - Create Loop from Line Items

EXAMPLE, if the text is split into 10 line items, then the Notion step will run 10 times after the Looping step, 1 time for each Loop iteration.

@AK328

For context, although you have a variable mapped from Step 2, the variable is sending ALL of the line items from step 2, thus sending all of the content, not as segments of the larger data set.

You will need to use the Looping Zap app: https://zapier.com/apps/looping/help

OK - so I do the looping step before the splitting step?  Or do I not even need to do the splitting once it’s looped?

OK - Troy - you’re so helpful! But I need to trouble you some more.  I’ve done the loop step and it looks good. Now I’m struggling to figure out how to put it into my notion step…what do I select here?

@AK328

Indicates NOT to use variables with “Preview”.

Use this variable.

DO NOT use this variable.

Thanks for all your help. Sadly, while I’m relatively tech-savvy for a business executive - I’m not techy enough to figure this out on my own.  While your last note cleared my error and allowed me to publish, only one small paragraph was ported over to Notion when the zap ran.

Is there a way to get someone from Zap to actually jump into my screen and fix this for me?

If not, I may just abandon this.  What a bummer. Supernormal only has one format for its meetings - ie the output is the same every time.  And this meeting was only 30 minutes so I can only imagine most people have a notes section that’s well over my character count, so I’m not really sure how/why they have set up an integration when it doesn’t integrate in a basic way!

Anyway - thanks again.

@AK328

Did you test with the Zap turned ON?

Help link for using Looping: https://zapier.com/apps/looping/help

Indicates only the FIRST loop will be tested.

Hey @AK328 👋

Just came across this and wanted to check how things went on this?

As Troy mentioned, when testing in the Zap editor only the first loop iteration will be tested but if you turn on the Zap and run a live test then all loops would go through - meaning that each paragraph should then be added to Notion. Did it work correctly when you ran a live test? Or did you reach out to one of the certified Zapier Experts for some 1:1 help on this?

Happy to lend a hand here if you’re still running into any issues - just let know! 🙂
