I’d like to Zap automated messages to our B&B tenants (welcome and reminders) that book in person rather than through managed web listings.

Is it possible to pull a contact or attendee from an Outlook calendar event, and send automated SMS messages to that contact?  I input manual bookings to a shared Outlook calendar and thought to create a contact for each renter to add as an Attendee to the event, as well as placing only their phone number as the Body text, but Zapier doesn’t seem to be able to pull either into the SMS To: phone # form.

Hi @Cable Hollow

Which SMS app would be used?

ClickSend, but I am open to suggestions.  Most of these SMS services seem geared towards mass marketers and their pricing plans don’t make sense for my use.

You can try this Zap action: Formatter > Text > Extract Phone Number

You may need to also add this Zap action: Formatter > Numbers > Format Phone Number

Sadly that doesn’t solve the problem that Zapier can’t seem to pull information from the Outlook calendar other than dates.  Attendees and Body Content continue to show no data, resulting in an empty output from the Formatter action.

Make sure to test with a representative Zap trigger example that has data for those fields.
